Is your Cookie Club really the best thing ever?


Can I gift a subscription to a loved one?

Not only can you…you totally should. Nothing says “I love you” like a monthly delivery of cookies. We don’t have a specific set up for this YET, but we will. For now, you can just put a different recipient’s details in the cart.

Can I change what goes in my order from month to month?

Sure can. Here’s how:

  • Go to “My Account” (click the person icon in the upper right corner)
  • Click “My Subscription”
  • Click “View” next to the subscription you want to change
  • Scroll down and click “Change Order” under the Subscription Totals section
  • Make your order changes (this can include changing the flavors and/or changing to a different club Pack)
  • Click “Add to Cart” (Don’t worry – you won’t be billed again)
  • Double check your changes and press “Proceed to Checkout”
  • Click that you’ve read the terms and conditions and click “Add To Cart”

And you’re done!

Can I cancel my membership?

There are no chains with these cookies. Cancel anytime. Just know that we are going to cry when you do. Like, embarrassing, ugly crying. But if you must, you can break our hearts cancel by following these steps:

  • Go to “My Account” (click the person icon in the upper right corner)
  • Click “My Subscription”
  • Click “View” next to the subscription you want to cancel
  • Click “Cancel” under Actions

Please note that if it’s really close to the time that your order is supposed to go out again, we may have already charged you and started to ship. If the cookies are out of our hands, we can’t cancel that order or refund.

What's in your cookies?

While each cookies flavor is a little different, we do have a whole page devoted to our base ingredients.

How many calories, grams of sugar, etc. are in your cookies?

It depends on what cookie you’re eating. Please visit our store and click on the cookie whose nutritional information you are seeking. Each page details the ingredients for that cookie and displays the same nutritional label you will find on the back of the cookie package.

I'm allergic to ( fill in the blank ) ... is your product safe for me?

We’re pretty good unless you’re allergic to nuts. But check our official allergen statement.

Are your cookies organic?

We provide as many ingredients as we can in an organic form. It’s not always easy to make every ingredient organic. For example, we opted for gluten free oat flour over organic to keep our cookies free of allergens.

Are your cookies raw?

This is a weird question that we get sometimes. While eating our raw dough won’t give you salmonella (no eggs!), we currently only sell fully baked cookies. Every cookie has seen the inside of an oven. But if you’d be interested in buying our dough, let us know, because that is a product we’re considering for the future.

Do you use Fair Trade chocolate?

We traded some brick and wood for the chocolate, fair and square. Oh, this isn’t the place for a Settlers of Catan joke? *sigh*

Ok, so the cocoa we use for our Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies is fair trade.

The chocolate chunks we use come from Enjoy Life. This is what they have to say on the subject: “Our chocolate is not fair-trade certified. However, our supplier focuses on improving conditions for the cocoa farmers and is committed to operating in an ethical, responsible, and safe manner, with no child labor. Although we cannot call our chocolate fair trade, our chocolate supplier actively supports the fair-trade initiative. They purchase the cocoa beans from cooperatives in the Ivory Coast and in Ghana and work with all major certification schemes, such as Fair Trade (FLO), “UTZ CERTIFIED Good Inside”,”Rainforest Alliance Certified™”, IMO Social & Fair Cocoa Practices and have their company-own standards. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to source fair trade ingredients that meet our strict allergy-friendly requirements.”

Is there a difference between palm fruit oil and palm kernel oil?

There sure is. There’s a lot of hubbub about palm oils. We’ve done a lot of work to make sure we are using a healthy, sustainable oil, because we’re really picky about our ingredients.

Palm fruit is a fleshy orange fruit. And palm fruit oil comes from – you guessed it – the fruit. Palm kernel oil comes from the core of the plant, the kernel, which contains highly saturated fats.

We source our palm fruit oil from Jedwards, which sells organic oil that is certified as sustainable by Friends of the Earth. You can read more about this on our ingredients page.

You use coconut sugar. I don't like coconut. I won't like these cookies.

Well first of all, that’s not a question.

And second, we do use coconut sugar in our cookies because refined white sugar is gross and bad for you, but it doesn’t taste like coconut. We did decide to use palm fruit oil because coconut oil can make recipes taste like coconut. But the sugar tastes a little like brown sugar.

Oh, and third, don’t be so quick to decide what you like and don’t like! Lots of people judge because of all the labels on these bad boys (vegan, gluten free, soy free, etc.), but we consistently blow people’s minds with how good they are. #LifeLessons

How much sugar is in your cookies?

We use coconut sugar to sweeten our cookies (see the question above more more info). And one of our bagged cookies has 7 grams of sugar. To put that in perspective:

  • 1 medium apple has about 19 grams of sugar (fructose and sucrose)
  • 1 half of a Lenny & Larry’s cookie has 14 grams (cane sugar)
  • 1 KIND bar has 12 grams of sugar (honey and glucose syrup)

Our cookies are a treat and taste sweet, but they aren’t a sugar bomb.

Do your bags contain BPA?

Nope. No BPA in our bags. They are plastic though. We don’t think that plastic is the best solution, but most food products are stored in plastic for freshness and we have not yet found a way around this. We opted for plastic in lieu of paper lined with plastic in hopes of saving a few trees along the way.

My store-of-choice doesn't carry Maxine's Heavenly. What can I do?

Ask the store manager to carry our cookies! Sometimes this is all it takes. We’re working hard on our end to get our cookies in all the stores (#WorldDomination), but your voice is helpful and appreciated!

To make it easy for you, we’ve created a request letter. Just print it out, sign it, and hand it to the store manager or buyer. You can get the letter here.

Do you offer free samples or coupons?

Not really. But not because we don’t love you. It’s just not really a good business practice to give away the product all the time. We sometimes offer discounts, which you can learn about by signing up for our newsletter.

We travel around to local festivals and provide samples there. So if there is a vegfest-like event in the California region, you are likely to find us.
